Public Transit
BART rapid rail and the SamTrans bus system serve SFO directly.
BART operates rapid rail service to northern San Mateo County, San Francisco and the East
Bay directly from SFO. BART is easily accessed from any terminal by riding SFO’s AirTrain to the
Garage G/BART Station stop. There is no charge to board AirTrain. BART provides a connection to
Caltrain at the Millbrae Station.

SamTrans provides 24-hour service connecting SFO to San Mateo County and parts of San
Francisco and Palo Alto.

Terminal 3: Arrivals/Baggage Claim Level, curbside adjacent to Courtyard 4

AirTrain
AirTrain is SFO’s fully automated people mover. AirTrain operates on two lines—the Red Line,
which connects all terminals, terminal garages and the BART Station; and the Blue Line, which
connects all terminals, terminal garages and the BART Station with the Rental Car Center. AirTrain
does not provide service to SFO’s Long Term Parking Lot.
Airporters
Airporters, privately operated scheduled bus services, operate between SFO and many Bay Area
cities. Airporters depart from the center island transportation zones on the Arrivals/Baggage Claim
Level of the International Terminal and Domestic Terminals 2 and 3.Visit the

Shared-Ride Vans
Shared-ride vans provide service between SFO and passenger-specified locations in shared
ride vans. Depending on the number of passengers, shared-ride vans may make multiple
stops. Shared-ride vans pick up on the Departures/Ticketing Level from the roadway center
island at all terminals. Visit the

Pre-Arranged Vans
Pre-arranged vans provide service between SFO and passenger-specified locations in shared
ride vans. Depending on the number of passengers, pre-arranged vans may make multiple stops. Vans
pick up in Courtyards 1 and 4 of the Domestic Terminals and Courtyards A and G at the International

Taxis
Taxi service is available to all Bay Area communities. Taxis depart from the designated taxi
zones located at the roadway center islands, on the Arrivals/Baggage Claim Level of all terminals.

Limousines
A number of limousine operators provide transportation services to and from SFO. Limousine
service must be pre-arranged with the operator. At the domestic terminals limousines may pick-up
passengers at both the upper and lower level curbs of Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Customers should
prearrange their pick-up location with the limousine operator. At the International Terminal
limousines pick-up passengers from the limousine zone, located at the roadway center island,
Arrivals/Baggage Claim Level. Visit the

Charter Services
A number of charter operators provide transportation services to and from SFO. Charter
service must be pre-arranged with the operator. Charter pick-up areas are located in the

Hotel Courtesy Shuttles
Courtesy shuttles provide service to participating airport-area hotels. Courtesy shuttles
are located at the Hotel Courtesy Shuttle zones on the center island of the Departures Level
roadway at all terminals. Phones to contact the hotels are available in the shelters at each zone.
Please note: these shuttles service only participating airport-area hotels, and do not provide
service to San Francisco or other regions of the Bay Area.
SFO Long-Term Parking Shuttle
Shuttles to SFO's Long-Term Parking facility operate 24-hours a day. Frequent shuttle
service runs every 5 to 15 minutes (depending on the time of day). SFO Long-Term Parking shuttles
pick up at the center island of the Departures Level roadway at all terminals, and have priority
loading zones at each terminal for quick passenger access. During peak travel periods baggage
loading assistance is provided in the garage and at each terminal stop.
Off-Airport Parking Shuttles
(excluding SFO Long-Term Parking)
Shuttle service is available to participating off-airport parking facilities. Off-airport
parking shuttles are located at the center island of the Departures Level roadway at all terminals.

Rental Car Center
SFO’s Rental Car Center allows travelers to pick up and drop off rental cars at one
convenient, central location. To access the Rental Car Center from the airport terminals, take the
AirTrain Blue Line. AirTrain, SFO’s fully automated people mover system, operates 24-hours every
day and provides convenient and frequent service throughout SFO. AirTrain stations are located in
all terminals, terminal garages, the Rental Car Center and SFO’s BART Station.
