SFO’s 11 cargo facilities provide approximately 989,000 square feet of warehouse and office space. Cargo service is available from 57 airlines, including 17 cargo-only airlines.
Services offered by cargo tenants include:
- refrigeration/cooler facilities

In 2006 SFO was selected by the Department of Homeland Security as one of three pilot airports to test the use of explosive detection technology for the screening of cargo. The $15 million project is being coordinated by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, with the system design and installation under the guidance of the airport’s Division of Design and Construction.
